In this session BKD will provide a summary of the changes instituted by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the Uniform Grants Guidance (UGG) issued in August 2020.  In order to understand some of these updates it is important to review the foundational federal grants management principles that exist. BKD will provide a refresher in these key areas and share commonly misunderstood or misapplied federal grant regulations with insights into how to practically improve your compliance. The purpose of this session is to provide training that will enable your CHC to be more confident in making the necessary revisions to policies, procedures and practices for your Organization associated with the UGG updates.

Learning Objectives:

1. Address the effective dates and provide an overview of the changes to the Uniform Grant Guidance issued in August 2020.
2. Address codified procurement thresholds and remind participants of existing federal procurement regulations.
3. Provide recommendations and best practices for when and how to utilize a federally approved indirect cost rate, specifically focusing on the 10% “de minimis” rate available to federal grantees.
