2025 Workforce Development Conference
Inspiring the Future of Rural Mississippi’s Healthcare Workforce

The Community Health Center Association of Mississippi (CHCAMS) in collaboration with the Mississippi Department of Health is hosting a one-day conference to address Mississippi's healthcare workforce challenges. This conference also aims to inspire and educate college students across the state pursuing healthcare-related disciplines by introducing them to the diverse career opportunities within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Rural Health Clinics (RHCs). The event will provide a platform to showcase the important role FQHCs and RHCs play in delivering quality care to underserved communities while encouraging students to consider these organizations as a part of their career path.
Conference Goals:
- Educate attendees about Mississippi’s healthcare workforce needs and challenges.
- Inspire and empower students to pursue healthcare careers within the state.
- Facilitate networking opportunities between students and healthcare organizations.
- Provide insights into educational pathways and workforce development initiatives.
- Support healthcare agencies with developing “Comprehensive Workforce Development Plans.”
Target Audience:
- College students enrolled in healthcare-related disciplines (nursing, medicine, public health, pharmacy, social work, etc.)
- Current FQHC and Rural Health Centers healthcare professionals as panelists and mentors
- Representatives from Mississippi’s health systems, clinics, or academic institutions

At the end of this conference, we will have increased awareness among Mississippi college students of the number of healthcare workforce opportunities in Mississippi. We also aim to strengthen relationships between students, educators, and employers as well as take steps toward addressing workforce shortages through specified initiatives.
